This is a short portion of Route 66 in Arizona between Seligman and Kingman. It was on May 31-2010. It was about 115 degrees - hot. This is the longest stretch of the last remaining portion of the original Route 66. Aside of the towns, there is NOTHING to see! A few Burma-Shave signs are posted. I checked my thermometer with a known-to-be-accurate thermometer and found that it actually read 2 degrees lower than the accurate thermometer. The abnormally high temperature observed on the bike thermometer can be attributed to the excessively hot air above the pavement. We, who rode Route 66 that day, in that area, are glad we rode it. It gave us nothing but bragging rights to say that WE RODE ROUTE 66 ON A BIKE! Did you??????
