15-01-11 At some horribly early hour on Saturday morning, Neels, JP, Simon and I went for a hoon 'round the Waimakariri river (usually called the Waimak for short). I hadn't had any sleep at all so had been awake for about 20 hours by this stage which made the ride that little bit more entertaining! Also gave the chest mount it's first real test. I had it angled up as far as it would go. looks ok, a little downwards perhaps but interesting none the less. If I flip the mounting clip upside-down and thus the camera too, I could angle it upwards a lot more but it would be sitting a bit lower as a result. The other option is to run the camera in 960 mode which is 4x3 rather than 16x9 but the view is taller so we'd see more of the top and bottom but it's not as wide. Check out dty2dty2's channel for examples. Still lots of experimenting to be done and that means more rides! PS I didn't want to put it on the helmet 'cause I kept hitting my head on just about every branch that came my way. Figured my head is harder than the camera.
